Gilpin Political Cafe

Meet with other locals who are interested in The Political Cafe, an informal discussion of a political topics. All points-of-view are welcome. Gilpin Poli Stu is going to veer from the Political Cafe trend a bit and stay away from discussions on political minutia, such as candidate or issue back-and-forth. Instead, we aim to take a larger view and discuss the merits of various political theories and attitudes, looking for common principles. We will test theories by fire, share information and expand our perspectives to the benefit of all. If you have questions about political theory or government, or have an idea or theory you'd like to test with others, this is the place! In addition to philosophy and debate, we will have additional meetups to talk about how to organize our theories and aims into effective political action at the local level.

Gilpin Political Cafe June Meeting
This month the topic will be "Property Rights" and we're going to get local. We will ask what property is, what rights are and especially what that means to us at the local level. No presentation this month - there will be statements allowed at the beginning and then on to the discussion. Michelle, instead of running her mouth will be moderating and keeping notes. Read more
